At least 500 people were killed in Turkey & Syria when a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Monday morning at 4.17AM.

So far 284 people have lost their lives in Turkey and 2,300 people are reported to be injured. In Syria, 237 people were killed and 639 were injured. Tremors were also felt in Lebanon and Israel, but there is no news of damage.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), 18 aftershocks were recorded after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Their intensity was more than 4. The intensity of the tremors of 7 major earthquakes that occurred after the first earthquake was more than 5. Experts say that aftershocks will be felt for the next few hours and days.

Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Turkey and Syria on Monday morning, and heavy damage has been caused. At 4:17 in the morning, the earth shook with the tremors of a strong earthquake. The depth of the earthquake was about 18 kilometers below. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Gaziantep province of Turkey. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 7.8. The earthquake’s epicenter is said to be where millions of refugees live. According to the American Geological Survey Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was 33 km away from Gaziantep at a depth of 18 km.

सोमवार की सुबह है तुर्की और सीरिया में भूकंप के तेज झटके महसूस किए गए जिसमें भारी क्षति पहुंची है. सुबह 4:17 पर तेज भूकंप के झटको के साथ धरती हिल गई. भूकंप की गहराई लगभग 18 किलोमीटर नीचे थी. भूकंप का केंद्र तुर्की के गजियान्टेप प्रांत के पास था. भूकंप की तीव्रता 7.8 मापी गई है. भूकंप का केंद्र बताया जा रहा है जहां लाखों की संख्या में रिफ्यूजी ही रह रहे हैं अमेरिकी भूवैज्ञानिक सर्वेक्षण केंद्र के मुताबिक भूकंप का केंद्र गजियान्टेप से 33 किलोमीटर दूर 18 किलोमीटर की गहराई में था.
2200 साल पुराना गजियातेप किला भी भूकंप के झटके से ढह गया.

Aftershocks across the region brought down many buildings and people were seen running into the streets. People were still in their sleep, and the tremors were felt as far away as the island of Cyprus.
Turkish television and social media pictures showed rescue workers digging through debris in Kahramanmaras and neighboring Gaziantep. Fires lit up the night sky in a picture from Kahramanmaras.

दक्षिणी तुर्की में शक्तिशाली भूकंप के बाद कई अपार्टमेंट की इमारतें ढह गईं. भूकंप के बाद तेज झटके भी महसूस किए गए. पहला झटका 7.8 तीव्रता का था उसके बाद से 6.7 तीव्रता का भूकंप आया . 7.8 तीव्रता के भूकंप को विनाशकारी विनाशकारी बताया जाता है जैसे-जैसे समय बीतेगा भूकंप से हुई क्षति का आकलन किया जा सकेगा.
