Muzaffarpur, May 22, 2025 —RDS College, Muzaffarpur, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, has announced an opening for the position of Research Assistant (RA) & Field Investigator under a prestigious empirical research project titled “Socio-Economic Differentials in the Adoption of Solar Energy in Bihar: Understanding the Household Decision-making.”
The position is purely on a contractual and temporary basis and offers an excellent opportunity for young researchers and postgraduates in social sciences to contribute to a vital sustainability study in Bihar.
RDS College, Muzaffarpur Invites Applications

- Monthly Emolument: ₹37,000
- Duration: 6 months (extendable based on project requirements)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Essential Qualification:
Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences (preferably Economics or Geography) with a minimum of 55% marks. - Desirable Qualifications:
- NET/SLET qualification in the relevant subject
- Ph.D. holders will be given preference
- Proficiency in using STATA for data analysis
- Age Limit: 21 to 37 years
RDS College, Muzaffarpur, is also inviting applications for the post of Field Investigator for its ongoing empirical research project on solar energy and sustainability titled “Socio-Economic Differentials in the Adoption of Solar Energy in Bihar: Understanding the Household Decision-making.”

- Duration: 3 Months (Temporary Contract Basis)

Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences (preferably in Economics or Geography) with at least 55% marks. - Desirable Qualifications:
- Qualified NET/SLET in relevant discipline
- Prior fieldwork experience in social science research projects
- Age Limit: 21 to 37 years
